Once the site of one of the most contentious integration struggles in the state, this historic high school, reimagined as a visitor center, now seeks to welcome all and underline the city's dedication to overcoming a difficult past. This beautifully maintained historic building is set to re-open to the public in 2028. The facility will include a Mansfield themed store to find unique local products and branded swag, public meeting, event and performance spaces, art gallery and exhibition space, and shared creative classrooms and workspaces in addition to the offices for the Mansfield Community Engagement Department. The facility will welcome residents and guests with a wide variety of public events, classes, exhibitions and regular public access.
